Mobile Meal

 

When after paying your rent you have less than $100 left for all of your other daily needs things can seem hopeless. Receiving a daily food supplement delivered to your door by a caring volunteer goes a long way in restoring hope.

We provide 15,000 mobile meals every year to indiviuals living in single room accommodations in our downtown core. These meals are delivered to the door of their room every evening by dedicated volunteers who develop caring relationships with the people to bring hope and share God's love.

Stuff 'n a Sock Kit

 

 When a person is able to get off the street into a room of their own, there is often no funds for them to buy basic necessities. The Mission's Stuff 'n a Sock kit is provided to individuals our volunteers meet in the downtown single room accomodations on first contact.

The kit while providing only a few basic necessities opens a door to a relationship with the individual that allows our volunteers to help in changing their life and the sharing of God's love.

Goodie Bag of Love

 

Every Christmas our volunteers deliver over 400 "Goodie Bags of Love". These gift bags contain a selection of fun and useful items from Chritsmas candy to warm gloves. The "Goodie Bags" are delivered by volunteers just before Christmas to people living in the single rrom accomodations dowtown, the shelters and treatment centres.

For many this is the only gift they will receive and why we believe that is is so important to provide. The "Goodie Bags" communicate clearly that they are not fogotten or abandoned and they are "loved"

Undie Funding

 

When you live on the street the clothes on your back are often all you have and you live in them 24/7. Nothing helps to restore your dignity like being able to change into clean clothes.

Through the Mission's P.I.N. (People in Need) bank a change of clothing is offered on a regular basis. Most clothing items are  provided through donations of good used clothing, however underwear is seldom available. It makes a significant difference to people if we are able to offer a complete change.

Meal in a Minute

 

 

Most of the residents of the single room accomodations in the downtown do not have access to a stove so that they can prepare proper meals. Usually the only device availabe for heating is a microwave. The Meal in a Minute that we import from the US can be cooked in a microwave and provides reasonable nutritional value.

If we are able through these meals to assist people in providing a steady source of good diet we are able to increase their overall health. This increase on overall health has significant positive impacts both for the individual and our community as a whole.
