Kidz Alive visits about 300 kids every week across the city of Lethbridge and Coalhurst with the help of volunteer route captains and their assistants. There are 5 routes, two on the North side, one on each the South and West sides, and one that goes out to Coalhurst. Many of these kids attend the Saturday Funday School, program every week where we are able to gently but boldly bring God's love to the life of each special child.

The message is a positive and affirming Bible based value lesson taught every week, along with some extremely noisy, boisterous music provided by a live band, mad fun, games, prizes, and lots of candy, including a special treat at the end.

We have had special guests including the Mayor, policemen and puppeteers. Funday School runs from September to December and from March to June, with summer day camps running in July and August.

Through sponsorships from Eagles' Nest Ranch in the Cypress Hills, 80 kids spend an amazing week every summer that they would not be able to enjoy without the sponsors.

The rock wall, zip line, paint ball, horseback riding, pool and chapel service give them a week they'll never forget. We also run 5-6 weeks of day camps in the City of Lethbridge in conjunction with 7 other city churches. These day camps are filled with applicable, practical and engaging value lessons in the morning and exciting activities in the afternoon such as waterslides, bowling and field games.

Our Christmas event is a fun party with hundreds of kids, and each child leaves with a stocking full of goodies (generously provided by local churches), and a teddy bear (from Hurricanes Teddy Bear Night). This past Christmas, we braved one of the worst winter storms of the season to bring the kids the encouraging story of our Saviours birth and some cheer in the form of stockings and bears.

We have received notes from grateful moms telling us that these were the only gifts under the tree, and had watched their children unselfishly give all of their gifts to a sibling who would have had nothing for Christmas otherwise.

We are looking for volunteers right now! We need people with all kinds of gifts, from musical talent to join our worship team, to artists who are interested in decorating sets, to bus captains who are looking to go out into the community and minister to families. We need people who love to write dramas and be on stage, and people who just want to sit with the kids and maintain crowd control. If you love working with kids, and you want to see your faith at work, this is a ministry you will be interested in!

You can also financially support this ministry by “carrying a kid” at $20/month and ensure that the word of God continues to speak into the lives of these kids and families. This monthly donation helps us pay for busses for transportation, candy, toys, costumes, and sets for the weekly running of the program.
